XPN Welcomes San Fermin to the Gild Hall in Arden
On Saturday January 31st WXPN welcomes the spine-tingling baroque pop of San Fermin to the Gild Hall in Arden! The eight piece ensemble played Delaware for the first time this past summer at Firefly Music Festival, and we're thrilled to get them for an intimate performance in the barn!
San Fermin is the project of Yale-trained composer Ellis Ludwig-Leone. The self-titled debut album, released in 2013 was met with universal critical acclaim and the first single "Sonsick" was a radio favorite. You've probably heard it.
Pop Matters says, "Masterfully orchestrated, Sam Fermin is a strange wonder performing alchemy with a handful of genres."
All Music writes. "Of those catchy standouts, "Sonsick" is the strongest, with a huge beat serving backup to huge melodic keyboards and a staggeringly triumphant chorus, boisterous with interlocking horn and vocal melody lines that recall the beautiful, melancholic marching feel of Beirut at their best."
Tickets are $16
