Fanny Kemble - Shame the Devil
This engaging one-woman show explores the life of Fanny Kemble; abolitionist, actress, wife and mother. Fanny Kemble wrote a journal of day-to-day life on a slave plantation which was read on the floor of the House of Commons and credited, in part, for England's decision to aid the North in winning the US Civil War. She was the niece of famous actress, Sarah Siddons, and ahead of her time in her struggle to take on a male-dominated society where women were considered "property."
