The Odd Couple by Neil Simon
The Odd Couple is a madcap comedy that tells the story of two hilariously mismatched roommates. Felix Ungar (to be portrayed by Steve Zeal) is a fastidious and hyper-critical man who, in the midst of a dissolving marriage, finds himself living with his longtime friend Oscar Madison (played by Chris Miller), a carefree slob. The two struggle to reconcile their different lifestyles and hilarity ensues. The madness is witnessed by their poker buddies, Murray, Speed, Vinnie, and Roy (played by Rob Weinstein, Grant Niezgodski, Zach Bloomfield, Michael Dalberg, respectively) and the Pigeon Sisters, Cecily and Gwendolyn (played by Elizabeth Mazur and Cristiana Barbatelli), their upstairs neighbors.
As the tension builds, their friendship begins to suffer, and could even crumble completely. Will they be able to put aside their differences and learn to compromise, or will they part ways forever?
This award-winning play examines the complicated nature of friendship and the difficulty faced by two men trying to start their lives over again. As they navigate the rocky terrain of living together, they learn and grow in ways neither of them expected. Lauded by critics since its debut, the play has spawned multiple television shows, a revised version featuring female roommates called The Female Odd Couple, and the famous film starring Walter Matthau and Jack Lemmon.
The performance runs 2 hours and 15 minutes including intermission.
