Storytelling for Everyone II: Advanced Class on Personal Narrative (Feb/March 2015)
Due to popular demand, there is now a level 2 class to follow up "Storytelling for Everyone."
This will be a five-week intensive class featuring lectures, exercises, and lab time.
While carrying over the open, encouraging atmosphere of the entry level class, the advanced course will assist students in working towards individual goals and push them to get even further out of their comfort zones.
The class features 5 intensive lab sessions for participants to workshop stories and receive instructor/group feedback. Also, weekly assignments and exercises will provide hands-on experience with tools, techniques, and areas of study we did not examine in level one.
Areas of study include, but are not limited to:
- No Paper Allowed: Telling the Off-Book "Moth" Story
- Mining For and Telling the Difficult Personal Story
- Generating Material When The Well Has Run Dry
- Folklore and Fairy Tale In Personal Narrative
- Advanced Structure and Form
- Using The Tools of Humor in Your Storytelling, Whether You are Funny or Not.
PREREQUISITE: Completion of "Storytelling For Everyone" entry level class or instructor's prior permission.
