One Evening, Seven Deadly Sins, No Guilt
Joey Pipia's "One Evening, Seven Deadly Sins, No Guilt," opens January 15th for a three week run at The Chameleon Theater. This new show is an expose: a romp through the vagaries of Seven Games of Chance, each paired with one of the classic Seven Deadly Sins.
"Legal, or illegal," says Pipia, "it's in the show."
Expect to see a side of life youâve never experienced; Pipia's world class skill at the card table has led him to rare encounters with people and places where respectability is measured by a person's skill at deception, resulting in one or more people ending up with less money.
"The Seven Deadly Sins are the perfect framework for this evening," he says.
At one point Pipia reveals his dealings with a gentleman who manufactured a miniature computer that plays perfect blackjack: it is worn secretly under ones clothing and into a Casino. That device, which Pipia will demonstrate - and his story of "finding" the $10,000 to buy it - is one of the evening's Seven Deadly Sins.
"You have to see it to believe it," says the magician.
For the final sin, a game of chance, Pipia puts his earnings for the evening on the line: if it goes his way, he gets paid, if not, the money is given back to the members of the audience.
Joey's previous show, The Magic Chamber, sold out every performance during its one-year run last year at the Chameleon, becoming Port Townsend's longest running show. One Evening, Seven Deadly Sins, No Guilt runs Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, January 15, 16, 17 / 22, 23, 24 / and 29, 30, 31. Show begins at 7 pm.
The Chameleon Theater is located on Castle Hill at 800 W. Park Ave in the Port Townsend Business Park (near the Dept of Motor Vehicles). There is plenty of parking.
