Annie Leonard: 'The Story of Stuff'
Sustainability and environmental health expert Annie Leonard created an Internet sensation with her video The Story of Stuff, a look at the underside of our production and consumption patterns that has drawn more than 7 million views. Leonard, a former coordinator of the Funders Workgroup for Sustainable Production and Consumption, says basic stuff is a necessity but consumerism and overconsumption have hidden costs to our health, environment, and the lives of millions of people who live and work in dangerous, dehumanizing conditions to sustain a dysfunctional take-make-waste paradigm.
