Down and Dirty Dance Series

In these trying times when production is threatening to come to a standstill, Dance Brigade kicked up its heels, pushed the dust out of the way and created The Down and Dirty Dance Series. In an effort to keep things moving, Dance Brigade's Dance Mission Theater has given away five different weekends in their 140-seat black box to help offset the costs of creating. Over 70 artists applied to the Down and Dirty Dance Series and here are three of the brilliant artists that were chosen. Here is to keeping art alive!!

Twilight vixen Revue: January 8 and 9
As the world spun wildly around two devastating world wars, San Francisco was in the midst of a cultural heyday. While other cities isolated their gay districts, San Francisco leaned heavily on the queer elements of its social fabric to draw sexual tourists to the city. Through monologue and song, dance and multi-media, the Twilight Vixen Revue will relate the story of this sometimes forgotten but queerly essential San Francisco story.

Secret Agent Pretty Smart goes undercover in this very theater, searching for her partner in crime-stopping and distracting the audience from the peril in which we all find ourselves. A one-woman blend of circus, music and stupidity, performed by the multi-talented Olivia Hallie Lehrman
