Playing With Light
Step into the light with concert:nova's next performance! Monday December 7, 2009 concert:nova presents the work of multimedia artists Anthony Luensman and Charles Woodman in interpretations of musical works that literally and figuratively play with LIGHT. The importance of light in aspects of both artists' work gets a chance to shine in a evening of modern gems, as well as ancient chant.
With George Crumb's epic Vox Balanae (Voice of the Whale), Toru Takemitsu's Raintree, George Tsontakis' Gymnopedies and Andre Jolivet's Chant de Linos, plus choral works led by conductor Ken Lam in Renaissance chant, the program offers an inventive evening of evocative and atmospheric sensory interplay.
