When the members of RUSTY BELLE first started playing music together they weren't quite sure what to make of it. It smelled like folk, acoustic and rooted, but leaned a little more towards tomorrow than yesterday. They swagger between raw blues, tiny tangos, country waltzes and backyard symphonies. Sometimes a walk with the Roma, a twisted tale in metered time, or a yell-along-after-dinner drunken opera. A dance band that tries to tie your shoes together. The music is littered with dented paint cans, smashed up trashcan lids, old hacksaw blades, and broken glass. Like junkyard songbirds, they sing sweet through all the rubbage.
ANNIE AND THE BEEKEEPERS - Annie and the Beekeepers is a folk and country inspired trio that met at Berklee College of Music in December 2006.
Annie Lynch and the Beekeepers owes much of its sound to the lilting country and bluegrass melodies of its forebears, but its musical palette is diverse enough to include a touch of New Orleans Dixie clarinet and some gorgeously resonant cello playing. The Boston Globe
SORCHA MERRILL packs a luscious punch into her blues-infused folk-jazz compositions. The Sorcha Merrill Duo combines her wails and whispers with Pete Morse's masterful electric and pedal steel guitar, introducing funky folk to country blues in a dimly lit jazz club.
