Finding Fela tells the story of Fela Kuti's life, his music, his social and political importance. Using a collection of archival footage from Kuti's vibrant musical performances in the 1970's and 1980's, as well as behind the scenes footage of the 2009 Broadway musical "Fela!", director Alex Gibney uses an unconventional approach to exploring a unique musical icon.
