Three hard rocking Boston bands gather on the Persian rugs tonight to celebrate the latest effort by OLDJACK.
OLDJACK ~ old soul rock and roll in Boston. OldJack is a group of circumstance. While recording other bands, Lead singer/songwriter Dan "GoodWood" Nicklin would find himself requesting his clients and musician friends to help make a studio record. In the Winter of 2008 a show was offered and OldJack took its first line up. While the members have changed and the band has grown in numbers (they currently bring 8-9 people to the stage) the band is still developing it's soul/rock sound. With two guitars, bass, drums, organ/keys, three female background singers, and a front man from yesterday, OldJack belts out their original material with lots of harmonies, big vocals, and guitar solos galore.
ERIC SALT AND THE ELECTRIC CITY - Boston rock band with an eclectic sound. Formed from The Abbey Lounge scene in 2005, Eric enlisted brother Denis, bassist Eric Anderson, and guitarist Mike Oram. They recorded the LP "The Hail Mary" with producer Ed Valauskas at famed Q Division Studios. Eric continues to perform solo shows and spends time scoring and producing at Mosquito Studios just outside Boston. In Late 2006 Eric scored the indie movie The Busker (www.thebuskerthemovie.com ) written and directed by Steve Croke. In early 2006 he contributed scoring to critically acclaimed documentary filmmaker David Sutherland's "Country Boys" which debuted on Frontline to rave revues. Eric's music has also been featured in television shows such as "Dawson's Creek" and "Summerland".
