Persimmons In Winter

Arclight Rep Theatre presents the world premiere of Vivian Keh's powerful memory play about two sisters struggling to maintain their friendship and cultural identity through a series of life altering challenges. Keh's beautifully poetic writing weaves the humorous and tragic elements of two unique individuals' lives through the brutality and horror of war to the difficult, often painful realities of American cultural assimilation. Young and her older sister, Soon are very different individuals with divergent views and dreams. Their love, friendship, mutual respect and shared experience strengthen their bond as sisters and sustain them through a number of tragedies. This is a play about survivial, friendship and the rediscovery of one's vital cultural identity.
