Aamera Siddiqui presents
Freedom Daze A staged reading by Aamera Siddiqui Directed by Suzy Messerole
In 1974, two young girls meet at a dinner party in Zambia. One girl would be sentenced to a life in solitary confinement, the other would become an artist diving into her story. In a world of "They Hate Freedom," "If you see something, say something" and "The Terror Alert is" where can one find the truth? Freedom Daze is a journey through the media maze of (mis)information, indoctrination and the creation of an enemy class of "them."
Featuring Taous Khazem, Aaron Preusse, Eliza Rasheed, Aamera Siddiqui, Molly Van Avery & Mohamed Yabdri
Aamera Siddiqui is a fiscal year 2014 recipient of an Artist Initiative grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
