SHADOWLANDS
The Attic Theatre is very proud to present, Shadowlands, based on the true heartfelt and inspiring love story of the famous British author C. S. Lewis and American poet, Joy Gresham. Lewis, the author of the Narnia books - The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, and known as Jack to his friends, teaches at an Oxford College. Joy Gresham (a fan of Lewiss writings) and her son Douglas, come to England to meet him. They hit it off quite well and become good friends even though they are a contrast of opposites: Jack quiet and studious and Joy being talkative and never hesitating to speak her mind. Their friendship eventually becomes a love story, but tragically Joy becomes very ill and their lives become complicated. In Shadowlands, their unlikely romance poses the elemental questions about God and love, life and death, pain and suffering. The theme that the Attic Theatre brings to the stage in this production is taken from a quote from the play, The magic never ends. Come see the magic, which will have you laugh, cry and connect with the characters in this truly remarkable love story. The show opens at Meydenbauer Theatre in Bellevue this February and runs Feb 19-27.
