"There is a Magic Made by Melody"
Alla Borzova, soprano/composer, and Anna Tonna, mezzo-soprano, accompanied by concert pianist Sofya Melikyan, will perform music by Beth Anderson Harold, Juliana Hall, Lisa A. Hogan, Julie Mandel, Nataliya Medvedovskaya, Nailah Nombeko, Hilary Tann, as well as a scene from Alla Borzova's comic chamber opera "The Wedding Gift of Pirate Granny." Ms. Borzova and Ms. Tonna are recipients of a grant from New York Women Composers, Inc. The concert will also include music by historical women composers Camilla de Rossi and Isabella Colbran, as well as classical operatic duets and arias by Handel, Mozart, Bizet, and music by Russian-American composer Alexander Dmitriev.
The concert will take place on December 20, 2014, Saturday, at 7pm at the historic St. Joseph of Arimathea Episcopal Church in White Plains, New York. After the concert, there will be a talk with the artists and composers followed by a reception. Tickets are $20/15 (seniors and students). For more information: (914) 592-7163 and (914) 738-5847.
