Valerie Troutt & the fear of the fat planet crew Album fundraiser
During the last 12 months of Red Poppy performances, Troutt & the Fear of a Fat Planet Crew have collaborated with many artists such as Classical Revolution, developed a repertoire, and started the process of recording Troutts debut album, Prepare for a Future . . . We are the Dreams of Slaves.
Prepare for a Future is a collection of Valerie's original jazz and soul music exploring the illusions and reality of her life as a fat Black woman with a vision for true community. This album features music arrangements by pianist Maya Kronfeld, spoken word by 2009 East Bay Slam champion Joyce Lee, and The Fear of a Fat Planet Crew.
Support this local artist in pursuing her goal of raising $4,000 to complete the recording of her debut project. Prepare for a Future is being recorded at Reclaim Music in Berkeley , California . The $4,000 will go towards recording, mixing and mastering the album. Proceeds will be used to create concerts and music opportunities for Valerie to share her vision and healing music with the world.
