With colorful costumes and inspiring music, our First Saturday Concert Series Season Finale will showcase the talent and artistry of many of your favorite local performers!

Our World Dance Showcase features Ballet Folklorico from Mexico, Tango from Argentina, Folkloric Dance from Bolivia), folk and court dance from Bali, Indonesia, Odissi dance from India and dance and music from the Congo.

*All shows run from 11:00am-12:00 noon and are held at the Santa Cruz County Veterans Memorial Building located at 846 Front St. in downtown Santa Cruz, California, every first Saturday from February through May.
MEET THE PERFORMERS!
Luh Andarawati (Noni) is from Klungkung, East Bali, Indonesia, where she started training and performing Balinese dance from the age of five. In California, she dances with Gamelan Sekar Jaya in Berkeley, and co-founded Suciawani Balinese Dance in Santa Cruz in 2013.
Corazon En Flor was founded in 1990 by Esteban Ortiz and Elda Mendez-Ortiz to bring youth into the love of folklorico dance. Some of the dancers performing today have worked with this group for over 15 years! Corazon en Flor has collaborated with Tandy Beal & Company in Mixed Nutz, Listening to the Earth, and Dance Around the World.
John and Nancy Lingemann began dancing together in college and 50 years later, we can still witness their sublime partnering on stage! Since 2000, they have taught weekly classes and perform locally for charitable events. Each year they travel to Buenos Aires to study with their favorite Argentine Tango maestros.
Shakti Bhakti, directed by Revital Carroll, is dedicated to the exposition of Odissi classical Indian dance. Shakti Bhakti dancers are passionate about expressing this ancient art with the perspective of a modern temple dancer.
Arnaud Loubayi, originally from the Congo, toured as a solo artist and with Ngoma Za Kongo as a dancer and choreographer throughout Africa, Asia and America. Loubayi adds his creative personal twist as he brings the art and tradition of Congolese dance to our community and beyond.
Bolivia Corazón de America (BCA) was formed in 2000 by Susana Salinas to connect Bolivian American children to their heritage. BCA showcases Bolivia's rich and varied culture. Based in San Francisco, the dancers perform around the Bay Area, Sacramento, LA, Chicago and in China's Beijing Touring Festival.
