Culture in Agriculture: Global Growers Gets Your Goat!
Global Growers Network is excited to host the third annual Culture in Agriculture event from 6:00pm - 8:00pm on Tuesday, November 25 at the Marianna above Wrecking Bar in Little Five Points! This year we're teaming up with a eclectic mix of local chefs, farmers, makers, and artists to create an evening of unique cuisine and culture tailored to the event's central theme: GOATS. All proceeds from the event provide agricultural support to our farms and help us pay for the public transportation that our farmers need to get to their grow sites.
Will and Jenni Harris, the powerhouse father and daughter duo behind the renowned, award-winning White Oak Pastures in Bluffton, Georgia are joining us as featured guests for the evening. As fifth generation farmers, they are committed to Georgia agriculture and have dedicated themselves to building a solid and forward-thinking foundation that informs the work of Global Growers farmers.
Some of Atlanta's top farm-to-table chefs are collaborating with Global Growers international farmers to craft unique dishes that throw an authentic cultural spin on locally grown food. The evening's eclectic tastings will highlight fresh goat meat provided by White Oak Pastures, goat milk and farm-crafted cheeses sourced from Decimal Place Farm, and organically-grown produce from Global Growers' farms. #weloveatl will be on site with a curated exhibition of photographs documenting Global Growers and the farm-to-table process.
Here's the breakdown of what guests' $40 in advance / $45 at the door suggested ticket donation includes:
- Food tastings using farm fresh ingredients from Global Growers farmers, White Oak Pastures, and Decimal Place Farm
- Signature cocktails crafted by Paige Lane, bartender at the Little Vinyl Lounge
- #weloveatl gallery exhibition
- Film shorts including "Welcome to Our Farm" by Anthony-Masterson and a debut of a new Global Growers film
