THE PEOPLE v. BEETHOVEN Trial Part I (Opus 13, C minor)
Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) wrote 32 piano sonatas (32 = 2^5) each consisting of 2-4 movements and sometimes (rarely) a human being will learn and perform them all. This is that, in a manner of speaking. "Practice practice practice." The Pianist is ordinarily alone when practicing and memorizing these works. Opus 13 ("Number 8") in C minor was given the subtitle of "Pathétique" by Beethoven ("LvB") himself. Why?
