TANGERINE:
"Tangerine make sweet melodies that nod to '60s pop and a little to R&B (original and latterday varieties - no, seriously), guitar solos that are models of economy and lots of bashing, crashing drums. It's dreamy, lovely stuff, even at its most shambolic, and the sound is sort of mid-fi - not quite a tinny shambles, with enough polish and gloss to attract non-indie fans." -THE GUARDIAN UK (BAND OF THE DAY 9/20/13)
"Tangerine deliver the indie-pop of your pacific northwest dreams with 'Nothing Better'word of warning: don't play it if you have to do something in 10 minutes, unless that thing is listening to this song for the fourth time in a row. In which case, carry on." - MTV BUZZWORTHY
"How can something so youthful and refreshing feel so nostalgic? And when can we have more?"- SEATTLE WEEKLY
"You're thinking 60s, right? The 60s NEVER sounded like this, nothing sounded like this. Everything. The guitar fading back through. The plaintive edge to the lead vocal. The solid, never grating drum beat. The repetition of the main statement. The fade-out trio. The slightly abrasive, playful guitar solo. The fade to purple...tell everyone." - EVERETT TRUE (Collapse Board)
"When Tangerine inevitably releases a full-length album, their brand of airy surf counterbalanced by rocky guitar sounds and splashy cymbals could very well become the next big wave in indie pop." -SOUND PARLOR
TBASA: TBASA releases an album once a year, and these albums vary wildly in style, from acoustic singalong to psychedelic excursion to noodling alt-rock. His most recent effort, Don't Say Sucks, is a dance album, for lack of a better word. Including at least one explicit dedication to Miley Cyrus, the album is a slippery dancefloor curiosity, full of full-bodied club-banger beats and offbeat ideas.
"Tim Basaraba is weird-o-rama. As the goggled TBASA, "I usually cover Bell Biv Devoe, Nirvana, Paula Abdul and the Pixies with my own special flair." BBD's "Poison" on acoustic guitar is a special treat. He was Idaho-weird long before Napoleon Dynamite, and that's good for Seattle." Tom Scanlon, Seattle Times "Tim Basaraba is a restlessly inventive singer-songwriter, beginning his musical life in Idaho as a punk singer, and subtly merging into a genre-hopping weirdo." By Rev. Adam McKinney on February 26, 2014 From http://www.northwestmilitary.com/music-and-culture/features-and-columns/2014/02/TBASA-keeps-you-on-your-toes/
Come "hang out" with Tangerine and TBASA at Victory Studios and get your 15 minutes of fame on "Band in Seattle."
