1st Annual Gut-Check Worst Film Festival
If you're looking for an alternative to the latest remake, reboot, or sequel at the multiplex, the 1st Annual Gut-Check Worst Film Festival is just the cure for your holiday blues!
Join The Midnite Movie Mamacita, Andrea Beesley-Brown, at MADCAP Theaters on Friday, December 4th for a night of killer Chihuahuas, demonic blow-up dolls, homicidal hillbillies, and Desert Man-Beasts! In the spirit of the hit TV-show Mystery Science Theater 3000, bad-movie aficionados and cinema masochists will gather as four of Phoenix's most infamous, locally-produced, cult films will be shown during a marathon screening!
The festival starts at 7pm with a screening of Night of the Chihuahuas. Small. Furry. Adorable. Oh, and bloodthirsty, vengeance-fueled, carnivorous man eaters! Watch in horror as small, Mexican dogs attack! See the awful, awful effects and worse acting! Hear what passes for dialogue! Yo quiero chaos!
This is followed at 8:30pm by the grade-Z, no-budget spectacular Back Woods. With the film making skills of a drunken Ed Wood and half the mind of John Waters comes Back Woods! Featuring the world's first retarded, genius, transvestite, redneck, mass murderer!
At 9:45pm the blow-up doll epic Blown will be gracing the screen. Bobby and Karen are in love. Until a possessed blow up sex doll rains down death like cats and dogs at Bobby's bachelor party! Get friends together to watch Blown... but only if you hate your friends.
Those who have survived up to this point will be treated to the world premiere of Return to Yucca Flats: The Desert Man Beast at 11:20pm. Why would they make a sequel to that God-awful Beast of Yucca Flats? Why not! Thirty corpses... one man beast... zero plot. 'Nuff said.
Tickets are $20 each patron will receive a small refund for each movie they make it through, and anyone who can last through all four movies will receive a $10 refund.
