Saturday morning 9:00am-Noon March 28, 2015
Our last class in the series will focus on growing the more challenging crops for our region, the heat lovers: tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and melons!
Join us to learn how Master Gardener Jeff Thompson gets tremendous production off his tomatoes, how Soil Sisters Plants & Produce owner Kate Halstead coaxes her peppers and eggplant to provide an abundant harvest, and Master Gardener Carol Bello ripens melons n the chilly environs of Granite Falls. You can find out how they do it and apply their secrets to your own garden.
The WSU Snohomish County Extension Growing Groceries Education Series brings together beginning and experienced gardeners with speakers and topics focused on growing healthy food using sustainable gardening practices.
No matter if you only have a tiny apartment deck, small garden space, or plenty of acreage you can grow fresh, healthy food in a healthier, more environmentally friendly way.
Developed over the last five years, the program's goal is to increase local access to fresh, healthy food by teaching the latest research-based techniques for growing food.
