Ecuador Manta
Ecuador Manta is a group of hardworking musicians that travel throughout the Midwest playing traditional music from the Andes infused with rhythms from all over Latin America, including Son Montuno, Cumbias, Salsa, Cha-Cha-Cha, Merengues, Soca, and other international influences. In recent years the group has been playing traditional flutes from both South and North America native bringing about a fresh, vibrant, new fusion to their music which is featured on their new CD, One Nation.
The solid nine member group of excellent and diverse musicians, five of the members being from The Burga family rooted here in The Twin Cities. The music conveys a message of joy, peace and unity. The music reaches people of all different ages, cultures and backgrounds. Ecuador Manta aspires to carry the torch of their ancestors and encourages communities where they travel to step up and help take care better care of Mother Earth, referred to from The Highlands of The Andes as LA PACHAMAMA.
Last month New York City had the largest global march in the history of the world shutting down Wall Street's financial district, A powerful message to the world to fight against climate change and protest the destruction of our planet lead by corporate greed and global inequality. Ecuador Manta's new CD sends their message to the world that the beat of the native people, the heartbeat of LA PACHAMAMA once silenced, is now being heard by the global community and bringing back more power then ever to the world.
