Psyence, The Black Delta Movement, Two Skies
And it's another magnificent night of music lined up for you lucky people!
Headlining we are thrilled to welcome back Psyence! We'd been aware of the Stoke on Trent four piece for a while, and after witnessing a barnstorming live performance from them at the Liverpool Psych Fest last year, and for us earlier in the year, we had to get these Led Zep/Black Angels influenced psych rockers back! And they release their third single Phoenix, on November on 12" red vinyl and digitally available on platforms worldwide! Chemicals for breakfast is the B-side.
Before them we bring you The Black Delta Movement. Formed in 2010, The Black Delta Movement a 4 piece Neo-Psychedelic Garage, Blues outfit from Hull played their first gig to over a hundred people at Hull's Freedom Festival on the 11th September of the same year.
The band launched their debut EP, God In Exile on the 29th December 2010 at the Lamp to a sell out crowd of 200. Their second EP, Peach Flavoured Hand Grenade was released on the 28th December 2011 at Fruit (300 cap) in Hull also to a sell out crowd. The band released their third EP, Lavender House to a crowd of 450 at the Welly, and the fourth, EP, 'Ghost Dance' was released in December 2014. With ever growing crowd, regular nationwide gigs and radio airplay, The BDM seem unstoppable. '(The Black Delta Movement) really, really caught my attention - Liz Kershaw BBC Radio 6 Music 'We never get the same band in twice but The Black Delta Movement have moved so far forward so fast...' Alan Raw - BBC Introducing DJ Mac of The Sesh said of the band; - "Another great band in the city who play homage to the likes of Steve Marriott's Humble Pie, as well as the likes of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. Matty Burr leads at the front and was born to do so. Indie Garage Rock'n'Roll has never had it so good"
They have supported The View, Temples, Proud Mary, Shaun Ryder, Viva Brother, Steve Cradock (Ocean Colour Scene, Paul Weller), All The Young, Twin Atlantic, The Moons, Twisted Wheel, The Stranglers and The Pink Fairies. amongst others. Opening the night we have the utterly wonderful Two Skies! The Sheffield 3 piece are a very firm favourite of ours, and their psych influenced rock sound, with Dan's voice soaring through (Dan was vocalist in Lyca Sleep, which when he left to be replaced by Nicky Smith, morphed into Exit Calm) and his beautiful guitar sounds creating a soundscape that will leave you captivated! With their 'Red' EP already out, this is a band you need to see!
With a Goodsoul DJ set as well, this is another fantastic night of music for your delectation!
