The Swingles
The Swingles, the latest incarnation of the near legendary acapella group The Swingle Singers, bring their own unique brand of music to the Kings Church in Amersham, for a special Christmas show.
The seven extraordinary voices that make up today's young, London-based Swingles are the inheritors of an unbroken lineage going back to the Parisian group of the 1960s, which won 5 Grammys in the USA. That ensemble won acclaim for their unique approach to Bach from Yehudi Menuhin, Quincy Jones and Ella Fitzgerald.
The current, modern line up use their voices to conjure imaginative worlds, with shimmering reinventions of artists as diverse as John Martyn, Debussy and Mumford & Sons and a nod to J.S. Bach, using the primal power of voices raised together in harmony.
With a groundbreaking new album, "Deep End", set for release in early 2015, and the first single, CLYM ("Couldn't Love You More") about to be released, this is a chance to hear the new songs, some old favourites and a clutch of Christmas crackers..
