Business with Intention
"Business as usual." The phrase conjures up images of heartless corporations, exploited workers, and environmental degradation. But with social responsibility and environmental awareness on the rise, "business as usual" is changing. Join Gorge Grown Food Network on Monday, October 27, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Pfriem Family Brewers for a panel and discussion of what a business with intention looks like and hear how several businesses have worked towards that vision.
Business leaders recognize that their companies can be built around an intention which benefits not only the bottom line, but the environment and all the people they touch. This course will breathe life into the concept of social entrepreneurship by dissecting its definition, and highlighting the challenges and thrills of four social entrepreneurs.
Moderated by Lisa Spicka (Maracuja Solutions), and including social entrepreneurs Lindsay Miller (Gorge Owned!), Richard Halpern (EcoApprentice), Emily Goodwin (Cascade Mountain School), and Wells Neal (Equal Exchange), this panel discussion will provide the information and forum to ensure attendees understand how they can move from "Business as Usual" to "Business with Intention".
Snacks will be served courtesy of Gorge Grown and drinks will be available for purchase at the bar.
