Aladdin and the Magic Lamp - a British panto
British Panto has a long tradition, going back more than 300 years. Often performed around the holidays, these interactive plays are fun for all ages.
Pantos can be described to Americans as a cross between Monty Python, a musical, and a fairy tale. You will see large colorful characters, men dressed as women, women dressed as men. You'll be encouraged to boo at the villain and cheer for the hero! If you hear an actor say, "Ooh no I didn't," you can retort with "Ooh yes you did!" If you see something evil lurking, you may shout, "Look behind you!" Enough jokes and innuendos will be fired over the kids' heads to keep everyone entertained.
With all original songs and with music by the Fremont Philharmonic, this musical comedy is a great holiday experience!
The Fremont Players have been performing pantos in the Northwest since 2002.
You're encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to be given to low-income people by Solid Ground.
