HOLLY MUÑOZ

MY NAME IS HOLLY MUÑOZ AND I AM A MUSICIAN AND SONGWRITER FROM EL PASO, TEXAS. I started playing guitar and singing when I was 22 and have taught myself most of what I know when it comes to songwriting. People say that my music sounds like early Suzanne Vega or a cross between PJ Harvey and The Police. One time someone said I reminded them of Bette Midler?

I recently finished making a record with John Vanderslice at Tiny Telephone in San Francisco, California and successfully funded a Tilt (like Kickstarter, but better) campaign to offset costs for recording and pressing vinyl. As of today I'm at 110 percent of my goal of $50,000 and I have pre-sold 75 percent of the records and CDs I printed.

Maps and Lists, will be available in stores on September 16, 2014. I'm heading out to promote the music on a 15-city tour in July and August and am hosting three big record release parties in Minneapolis, New York City, and San Francisco in September. After that I'm going to make a record every year. And play lots and lots of shows in people's living rooms and backyards and in churches and record stores. And eventually I'm going to start an imprint, Outer Sunset Records, that's like, a seed accelerator, but for super awesome, enterprising, independent musicians.
