The most popular girls at the 2009 Boulder International Fringe Festival descend upon the innocent citizens of Denver!
square product theatre and WreckingBall Theater Lab, in association with The Packing House Center for the Arts, present a Denver run of "Good Girls Don't, But I Do," conceived and directed by Joan Bruemmer and collaboratively created and performed by Karina Costantino, Meridith Crosley-Grundei, Angela Delichatsios, Emily K. Harrison, Laurie Lynch, Jeanine McCain, Michelle Moore and Colleen Mylott.
"Good Girls Don't, But I Do" is an innovative work incorporating both original and culled texts, movement, and song in an exploration of what it means to be a woman in contemporary society. Inspired by Ellen Fein and Sherrie Schneider's controversial Best Seller "The Rules: Time-Tested Secrets for Capturing the Heart of Mr. Right" and a 1950s era home economics book, the piece humorously explores the do's and don'ts of dating from a variety of perspectives. Are there "rules" for meeting Mr. Right? "Good Girls Don't, But I Do" asks what inquiring minds want to know.
"You will certainly never look at your sponge-mop the same way again." - Kurt Brighton for THE DENVER POST
"I haven't had a hunting license in years, but eight fresh-faces 'good girls' in high heels and snazzy June Clever dresses stepping in time to a handful of angel-in-the-kitchen, devil-in-the-bedroom songs? I like." - Mark Collins for THE DAILY CAMERA
