About Artists: Hamed Nikpay
https://www.facebook.com/NikpayProductions A fusion vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and song writer, Hamed' Nikpay has been a pioneering & experimental artist for over a decade. His music transcends all boundaries and genres. It is an artful transformation of Classical Persian melodies to soulful Flamenco, mystical fusion of transcendental Sufi sounds with smooth jazz, and tasteful transition of folkloric Persian ballads to Latin beats, all laced with eloquent lyrics by revered Persian poets, ancient & contemporary, incisively chosen by him. He writes his own songs, and often collaborates with musicians of different genres for arrangement and harmonization. He produces profusely, and his ingenuity as a visionary artist is hailed by audiences, and critics alike.
Hamed's passionate live performances, and electrifying voice, has mesmerized audiences throughout the world and has earned him the reputation of one of "Iran's best young vocalists".
He has produced 4 albums --"Solo Passage", "All Is Calm", "spellbound" and just released the ground breaking & quintessential fusion album "Reaching You".
Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam https://www.facebook.com/shahrokhmoshkinghalam Shahrokh Moshkin Ghalam is a world renowned dancer & choreographer who has dazzled audiences with his artistic, theatrical, and interpretative dance performances throughout the world. He has a degree in History of Art and Theatre from University of Paris VIII and was a permanent member of the Comédie-Française for many years.
Shahrokh left his birth country of Iran at a very early age for France where he has resided, trained, and given performances ever since. In late 90's he joined the prestigious French theatre director Adriane Moushkin's Théâtre du Soleil where he received training on folkloric Indian "Kathakali", Indonesian "Topeng", and Japanese "Kabukli".
These exposures combined with Sufi forms and Flamenco which he later adopted, reshaped his style and direction in dancing, and became the dominant color of his performance. He has had numerous worldwide performances, such as his collaboration as main actor in productions of "Tartuffe", "La Ville Parjure", and "des Atrides", his solo dance at international festivals such as Festival de Meridas, Festival d'Asturias, Festival de Chartres, and many others.
In late 90's, he established the Nakissa Dance Company and has performed many of his creations with this company worldwide, including "A Persian Night's Dream", "The Route of Orient", "Nostalgia or Ghassedak", "The Seven Pavilion of Love" (Haft Peykar), "Omar Khayam," "Les Danses Mythologiques," "Mani the Bouddha of Light," and "Rumi Le brûlé". His recent work includes "Love Stories of Shahnameh" based on epic poems from the Ferdowsi's "Shahnameh Book of Kings".
