WI Sustainable Business Council Conference
The 2nd Annual WI Sustainable Business Council Conference will be held December 3, 2009 at the Discovery World Museum in Milwaukee. This conference is the only conference in Wisconsin that is designed to create the opportunity for direct business-to-business sharing of experiences in the sustainability area. Last years event attracted 300 registrants from large and small businesses. This year, we hope to make the event even larger by designing each session to deliver pragmatic tools or take-away lessons that you can use when you return to work. The conference is hosted by the WI Sustainable Business Council, the Business, Environment and Social Responsibility program at the Wisconsin School of Business and Discovery World. Many other states have developed sustainable business networks or sustainable business councils. These groups act as support groups for businesses that are struggling to figure out what to do. This conference is the manifestation of Wisconsin's need for a coordinating group for business in the sustainability area. The WI Sustainable Business Council serves Wisconsin businesses working with sustainable products, services and processes. Sustainable businesses take full account of the environmental and social consequences of economic activity and use resources that are renewable, replaceable, non-depletionary or regenerative. By so doing, these businesses reduce waste, improve efficiencies, and increase employee productivity, all of which decrease operating costs and increase margins. Our goal is to establish Wisconsin not only as a destination for sustainable businesses, but as a home for businesses from all sectors with an interest in sustainability. Who Should Attend?
