Sound Circle Solstice Concert
The 17-voice women's a cappella ensemble Sound Circle, performs an annual Solstice concert featuring a nontraditional mix of genres and colors, offering audiences an alternative to the holiday-based musical offerings of the season. Selections range widely across genres; this year's program includes From Behind the Caravan, a dazzling setting of texts by Hafiz by the dynamic young composer Abbie Betinis; Malcolm Dalglish's soaring Under Heaven, Under the Sun, David MacIntyre's startling Ave Maria, and new arrangements by Sound Circle singer Lindsey Stillinger, as well as music of Bernice Johnson Reagon, Beacky Reardon, Ben Harper, Ysaye Barnwell, Elise Witt, and more.
