Set in the backroom of Harry Hope's dingy Greenwich Village Bar in 1912, "The Iceman Cometh" tells the tale of a group of men and a trio of prostitutes with nothing but their pipe dreams to keep them feeling alive. They eagerly await the arrival of Hickey, a New York traveling salesman, who stops in twice a year to share good jokes and dispense free booze. When Hinkey arrives in time to celebrate Harry's birthday, however, it becomes clear that he is a changed man - and that he wants to change them as well.
Cream City Theater, LLC, is proud to present this classic play by Eugene O'Neill as a staged reading. Everyone has heard of "The Iceman Cometh" and now is your chance to see the play brought to life by a fine cast of local actors. Katherine Beeson, director and playwright in the Milwaukee live theater scene, will be bringing this incredible work to you.
