Promise, an aerial dance
Choreographed by Winifred Haun in 2009, "Promise" focuses on the women, images and psychological themes found in East of Eden by John Steinbeck. Promise is performed partly on aerial straps and features the music of George Crumb, Jolie Holland, and Maki Ishii. At its premiere, Promise was acclaimed by audience members and critics.
Each performance will also feature a different Chicago dance company as a warm-up act. There will be one 15 minute intermission and it will include free snacks. The entire program is approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, including intermission.
