Dr. Cornel West @The Well
Dr. Cornel West returns to The Well for lunch to talk about his new book Black Prophetic Fire, which will be released on October 7.
In his new book, Dr. West takes a look at six revolutionary African American leaders: Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Du Bois, Martin Luther King Jr., Ella Baker, Malcolm X, and Ida Wells-Barnett. West examines the impact of these men and women on their own eras and across the decades.
Dr. West will speak to area leaders - religious and civic - about the role and need for prophetic presence today, the roles that race and power play in our public commons, and how we can work for a more just and compassionate community.
