Cantina de la Granja Fundraiser for Green City market
Cantina de la Granja is a Modern Mexican restaurant opening in early 2015 in Chicago's Andersonville neighborhood. The restaurant's vision is to innovate traditional and regional Mexican dishes through modern culinary techniques while keeping flavors authentic. Cantina de la Granja will provide a Midwest farm-to-table experience by sourcing from a hyper-local group of farmers and growers, with 70% to 75% of the ingredients including meats, seafood and vegetables, sourced within 200 miles of Chicago. In addition, Cantina de la Granja will feature a 1,400 square foot rooftop garden designed to produce 1,000 pounds of ingredients, not only to use in the restaurant, but also as a source to prototype varietals such as peppers that will continue to be harvested at local farms. The La Granja Urbana Dinner Series is the restaurant's opportunity to test the upcoming unique menu and its unique Midwest ingredients while supporting local community organizations. Reinforcing Cantina de La Granja's core value of always being an accessible and welcoming gathering place for couples, families, friends and large groups.
