Preparing for a Minimum Wage Increase
Preparing for a Minimum Wage Increase Friday, Oct. 10, 9:30 - 11:00 a.m. Edgewater Branch Library, 6000 N. Broadway
Guest Speakers: 48th Ward Ald. Harry Osterman Brian Koester, Bark Bark Club Rebeca Mojica, Blue Buddha Boutique Timothy Classen, Assoc. Professor at Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University
From President Obama raising minimum wage for federal contractors, to Seattle rolling out a $15/hour minimum wage, raising the minimum wage has been a hot topic nationwide. Locally, Gov. Quinn is recommending a $1.75/hour increase to Illinois minimum wage and Mayor Emanuel assembled a working group earlier this year to determine a higher Chicago minimum wage.
While nothing is set in stone, all signs point to a minimum wage increase beyond just keeping with inflation. We want to help prepare Edgewater businesses for coming changes.
Join us for a panel discussion about strategies to prepare your business for increased expenses.
Coffee and light refreshments will be served by Cookies and Carnitas. Free for Edgewater Chamber members and non members.
