Apple City Roller Derby Presents a Getsome Training

Getsome Athletics is returning to Eastern Washington with high level strategy and game play drills to take your team to the top!

Sat morning will feature a three hour skills clinic so you can learn the tips and tricks of nailing all your individual skills. This portion of the day will have a refresher course on massively effective stopping, explosive contact creation, forwards and backwards agility as well as fun drills to practice all of these skills at your own team practice.

Saturday afternoon we will work on pack awareness, jammer contact and hole creation and definition of the pack and its importance to the game.

Sunday morning we will do a video review of Saturdays game to discuss opportunities and strengths displayed by the teams but to also provide you with a chance to learn howto use video review as a productive learning tool. After we conclude the video session we will hop back on skates and finish the weekend with strategy focused sessions. We will work on specific scenarios followed by informal scrimmage sessions where the scenarios will be put into action. You will get provided feedback for you in game as well as post jam to help you and your lineup know how to best tackle arising situations.

In game training is the next evolution of roller derby training! And it will take you, and your team, to the next level!

About the Coach:
Carmen Getsome is an athlete for the Rat City Rollergirls and Team USA. She was a rostered player during the 2014 Roller Derby World Cup and jammed and blocked as a utility player during their run for the gold medal!

Carmen has been internationally coaching roller derby for the last 6 years and playing since 2006 during that time she has been lucky enough to work with some of the top skaters in the world!

Carmens positive attitude, high fives, skill breakdowns and ability to demonstrate strategies will have you smiling ear to ear as you are working hard and learning new things that will undoubtedly give your team the competitive edge!

Saturday 9am-4pm
Sunday 10am-4pm

Saturday at 7pm Apple City Roller Derby will be playing a game against Lilac City Rollergirls at the same location as camp! Tickets are $10!
