Last Licks Cafe presents Maria Fairchild with Vinnie Raniolo
Maria Fairchild has a fresh take on traditional folk music. Her driving, rhythmic Appalachian banjo lays the foundation for old-time dance tunes, newly written songs, ancient ballads, and even classic rock. Its all tied together with clear, strong vocals and a sly and engaging wit. Audiences on both coasts and in Canada and England have enjoyed her unique blend of the contemporary and the time-honored. Joining Maria will be guitarist Vinny Raniolo, who adds a bluegrass/swing dimension to the old-time sound. Vinny played his first professional gig at the age of 16. Now at 25, he has toured the US and Europe backing up pop/rock artists and playing lead guitar in many rock/funk/jazz bands.
