House of Time presents "Apotheosis and Re-Creation"
The chamber ensemble House of Time brings Baroque music to life with energetic performances and compelling programs. House of Time builds on the successes of its inaugural year, which brought them to the Berkeley Early Music Festival, Early Music Festival: NYC and Bohemian National Hall at The Czech Center New York. On September 24th, House of Time, featuring Juilliard faculty and international competition winners, kicks off its second season with a program of all-French music. "Apotheosis and Re-Creation" features François Couperin's masterful Apotheose de Lully, depicting the famed composer's arrival at Parnassus with vivid music and witty narration. The program also includes Leclair's Deuxiéme Recreation de Musique, an epic re-imagining of the classic French dance suite that includes one of the greatest chaconnes in the repertoire. The concert is at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 3 West 65th Street in Manhattan. House of Time ensemble members are: Tatiana Daubek, violins; Gonzalo X. Ruiz, oboe; Beiliang Zhu, viola da gamba; and Avi Stein, harpsichord, each of whom perform on period instruments. Special guest artists violinist Cynthia Roberts and flutist Stephen Schultz join the group for this program. More information, including dates and programs for the entire 2014-2015 season, is at www.houseoftimemusic.org.
