The Beatles: The Studio Years
1966 was a watershed year for the Beatles. The band stopped their rigorous touring schedule to focus exclusively on writing and recording new material. Their sonic experimentation in the studio during this period not only pushed, but shattered the boundaries of popular music. Their recordings between 1966 and 1970 incorporated strings, horns, choirs and even Indian instrumentation. To celebrate the legacy of the Beatles' studio years, a diverse group of WCMS student performers from rock guitarists to string players will perform a concert of selected Beatles works under the musical direction of Tad Hitchcock. Come experience some of the finest and most recognizable music of the rock era performed live on stage! Two shows at 4 & 7 PM.
