DOUBLE BILL: INTERCOURSE by Ultimate Dancer/Louise Ahl + COSAS by Alma Söderberg
Welcome to the Micro-Fest, a three-day burst of progressive performance and events from the UK and Europe spread across the city of Bristol.
INTERCOURSE Intercourse is a functional solo dance piece about dysfunctional relationships created with Louise Ahl's performance alter-ego Ultimate Dancer. Three chairs, an aloe-vera plant and a critic take part in an odd sexual play that alters from ultimate pleasure to deep trauma. By exposing and advocating a live communication between artist, audience and critic, Intercourse wants to plant the idea that 'everybody is a critic'.
Intercourse was commissioned by Dance4 and has been developed in partnership with Yorkshire Dance, The Basement, Dance Base, BUZZCUT, CNDC Angers and The Work Room with support from the National Lottery, through Arts Council England.
Louise Ahl is a Swedish-born choreographer and performer, based in Glasgow. Through an expanded idea of dance and choreography, she creates solo work with her performance alter-ego Ultimate Dancer, but also work collaboratively with other people. Louise studied theatre in Sweden, Choreography in Berlin and graduated from Dartington College of Arts in 2010. Her work has been shown internationally and has been supported through Creative Scotland, Arts Council England and the Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
COSAS In Cosas, Alma Söderberg sings while talking, talks while dancing and dances while singing. Cosas examines the physical aspects of language and does so by stripping words of their meanings and reducing sentences to their barest minimum. In a torrent of song, language, stamping feet and verbally punctuated gesture: sound and movement become one.
Credits; Choreography and performance: Alma Söderberg. Advice: Igor Dorbricic, Rodrigo Sobrazo. Light design: Ellen Knops. Thanks to: Jeanine Durning and Hendrik Willekens.

She has made three solo performances: Entertainment, Cosas and TRAVAIL, has an ongoing collaboration with Jolika Sudermann with whom she made A Talk and plays in the performance band John The Houseband.
