English Country Dance Salon
This year Portland Revels will take a break from their usual Salon format to offer an evening of English Country Dance. English Country Dance is a form of social folk dance which originated in Renaissance England, and was popular until the early 19th century in parts of Europe, the American colonies and the United States. It is the ancestor of several other folk dances, including contra and square dance. If you've never had the opportunity to learn this traditional dance form now's your chance. We'll have live music, a caller and teachers to help you learn the steps.
