Materials fee: Approx. $50 each day (price may vary with cost of silver).
Join Mary for two days of creating beautiful jewlery with Precious Metal Clay (PMC)!
PMC is a new and exciting medium that requires no jewelry or metalworking experience. The clay is made of molecular-sized particles of fine silver in an organic binder. It can be formed, carved, stamped, folded and molded!
Day One will be an introduction to PMC and no experience is necessary. During this introductory workshop, students will create pendants, earrings, beads and bails as well as learn finishing and coloring techniques.
Day Two requires some experience with PMC. Students will have the opportunity to design and make their own rings, learn the techniques needed to size a ring and add texture, as well as different ways to set fire-in-place faceted stones. Every student will leave with finished works of art!
Mary Neuer Lee has been a metal artist since 1969 and is a Certified PMC Instructor and a member of the PMC Guild. She holds Jewelers Certificates from Santa Rosa Junior College and Revere Jewelers Academy in San Francisco. Mary has shown her work in many galleries including Shidoni Gallery, Santa Fe, NM; Eureka Gallery, NY; Wolfards Gallery, Santa Rosa, CA; Earthworks, Sonoma, CA; and The Ansel Adams Gallery in Yosemite National Park.
