Montserrat
Montserrats silky voice breathes new life into timeless bossa nova hits on her most recent album Boleros com Bossa. Paying homage to Latin American classics, such as: Besame Mucho, Tu Me Acostumbraste and Esta Tarde Vi LLover; Boleros com Bossa has topped the charts in Spain, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, France, Italy and Japan. Originally from the Canary Islands, Montserrat was born on April 27th, the day of Our Lady of Montserrat, the patron saint of Catalunya, Spain. Although she began her professional career in 2003, she's been singing since the age of 12. A citizen of the world who's lived on four continents, Montserrat currently calls Brazil home.
Boleros com Bossa is Montserrat's second album. Her debut production, Anoranza, a collection of Cuban and Mexican boleros recorded in Havana and Sao Paolo, featured performances with some of Latin music's greatest artists, including Chucho Valdes, Pablo Milanes, Pio Leiva (Buena Vista Social Club) and "King of Bolero," Mundito Gonzalez.
Influenced by her expanding global experiences over the past six years, Montserrat has developed a new sound that is a unique fusion of classic boleros with the light-hearted, groove-filled Brazilian rhythms. The result is remarkable. Boleros com Bossa brings all of the heart-felt longing of the timeless boleros but with a lot less pain!
