Triskelion Arts presents Tami Stronach Dance in the Aldous Theater
Friday-Sunday, February 20-22 at 8pm
Around the Bend casts three oddly matched characters an expert, a fixer, and a decorator in a dark, black-box theater trying to put on a show. Each character is driven by a restless internal motor that causes them to fall in and out of sync with their environment and their own objectives. In this world, the theater space functions as a fourth character asserting its own unpredictable agenda. As the performers try to control the space, each other, and the audience's expectations, they find moments of unexpected beauty as light-bulbs clank, cords dangle, and stars come out. A singular bulb stands in for a campfire a familiar light source around which we gather to find warmth and tell each other stories. Performed by Denisa Musilova, Darrin Wright, and Xan Burley, with sound design by Jane Shaw, lighting design by Dan Sterns, and technical direction by Andy Dickerson.
