"This subtly psychedelic Nashville stoner-rock four-piece takes a great leap forward on its second album, Lightning at the Door, self-released via Bandcamp in November. Its debut, 2012's Our Mother Electricity, is a satisfyingly well-crafted piece of heavy space sludge, drawing on a template that's equal parts Black Sabbath, Mountain, and Deep Purple, but on Lightning at the Door the band seems to feel more free to indulge in personal idiosyncrasiesand the music definitely benefits from that. It's more intricate, more intimate, and possibly more strongly informed by a folkloric southern-blues sensibility.
