Anthony Kearns
Considered Ireland's Finest Tenor, Anthony's career took a leap in 1999 when The Irish Tenors achieved international stardom, becoming over-night world-wide sensations as Ireland's most famous touring musicians, second only to U2. The trio has toured with the trio several times annually for over a decade; with 10 CDs to their credit, always listed on Billboard's Top Ten upon release, three quickly went gold, platinum and double platinum. Anthony is increasingly in demand as a solo performer internationally. He performs concerts with a sole piano in the recital format, as guest soloist with some of the world's finest symphony orchestras, and on international opera stages. Born in a small village in County Wexford, Ireland, Anthony began performing Ireland's beautiful trilling Sean Nós (old style unaccompanied) singing and is recognized as a master of the craft. In 1993, he won a talent contest much like America's or Britain's Got Talent. As a result, he began studying classical music in Dublin, Wales, and New York City. In 2010 was recognized by the Irish Music Association as the best Irish Tenor in the US, UK, and the European Union. Anthony is also a voting member of the Grammy's. Anthony has many operatic roles to his credit including: Fenton in an Italian production of Falstaff, the title role of Faust, Carmen's Don José, and Don Ottavio in Don Giovanni, all in Ireland. In the U.S. he has performed Romeo in Romeo & Juliet Then and Now, Edgardo in Lucia di Lammermoor, title role of Faust, for Opera Naples [FL] and Alfred in Die Fledermaus, in Colorado all receiving stunning reviews. Anthony filmed a PBS Special in Prague called Halleluiah Broadway in February of 2010, released to wide acclaim across the U.S. In January 2013, Anthony was involved in the U.S. Inaugural weekend celebrations. He was invited by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Dempsey, to perform at a brunch for Medal of Honor recipients, performed at the inaugural ball hosted by Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley, and was then invited to attend the actual swearing-in ceremony as an honored VIP guest.
