Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts' "The Carpenter's Son"
Each winter, Ballet 5:8 School of the Arts comes together to present a full length story ballet that paints a vivid picture of the Christmas story through dance. We use all the elements and trimmings of a typical winter story ballet, like The Nutcracker, but we prefer a ballet that is our very own Christmas tradition: The Carpenter' s Son. This poignant ballet features original choreography by Ballet 5:8 Artistic Director Julianna Slager, lead roles carried by members of our advanced training programs and Student Ensemble, stunning handmade costumes and sets, classical and contemporary music, and a cast of over 120 area students.
