Justin Hicks brings the Queen of American Folk Music back to life through an evening of channeling, covering and re-mixing her great works. This performance is the first public sharing of his new work The Odetta Project: waterboy and the mighty world, produced by Kaneza Schaal. The piece explores Odetta's musical, social and political legacy through Hicks personal upbringing by a singer/songwriter and by overlaying her music with contemporary struggles for life and justice. Hicks harnesses the beauty and power of Odetta's sound and composition, inviting her Majesty back to the stage.
